o que pensamos, o que queremos e... o que acabamos por fazer

Andamos uma vida a ver, e a apreender. Medimos factos, dos outros, e consequências, dos outros, e opinamos sobre nós nos sapatos... dos outros. A verdade é que quando os factos nos correm nas veias e as consequências nos ferem a pele, a nossa e não a dos outros, todas as nossas opinações se esvaem. A frase 'no teu lugar eu faria...' não termina com as mesmas palavras quando estamos nós nesse lugar, quando temos que agir, que tomar decisões reais em vez de opinarmos apenas do alto da nossa moralidade.

We spend a lifetime seeing and grasping. We measure the facts, of others, and consequences of others, and we opine about us walking in the shoes... of others. The truth is that when the facts run in the veins and the consequences wound the skin, ours and not that of others, all our opinating fades. The phrase 'in your place I would ...' does not end with the same words when we are in that place, when we have to act, to make real decisions instead of just opine from the top of our morality.
